::: Mobile Telecommunication Networks Principles and Practice 3 credit 3 hours
This course aims to improve EE graduate student\'s knowledge in mobile telecommunication networks with emphasis on the engineering practice, as well as to train the students to be able to design and analyze the mobile telecommunication networks. The course content includes the following: (1) Fundamentals of Telecommunications (2) Mobile telecom systems evolution and future trend (3) Cellular network structure and functions (4) Taiwan GSM networks case study (5) Wireless networks planning, design and engineering practice 1. RF planning: computer simulation and road test 2. Traffic and capacity analysis 3. Frequency planning and interference study (6) System optimization and network management (7) Site-visiting to Telecomm company\'s operation center (8) Planning/design simulation using computer software if funding is allowed.
